Fun weekend!

Hi everyone. My hubby and I celebrated our 10 year anniv on Saturday. His sister was awesome and came here and watched our son for the weekend and the dog :) Him and I did something a little kidsy and went to the Wisconsin Dells just the two of us. We got this awesome hotel right on Lake Delton.

We went to the Tommy Barlett Water Show, I have not seen it since I was 10 years old. It is a great show! We got the best seats you could get so we were right in the center in the front. At the end they had an awesome dancing water, laser light show. I took video of it but cannot get it to load right. Maybe I will try again later.

We also went to Crocodile Alley and saw a ton of different reptiles. We walked around a ton, we ate ice cream, we went to shops. We relaxed, we had a blast. There is so much to do in the Dells in the summer. If anyone has never been there try to plan a family trip there some year during the summer months and I promise you that you will not be bored or regret going. The city is like a big ole amusement park.

I am going to put some pictures of our hotel at the end of the entry. Our room was beautiful! So peaceful feeling.

My grandson is overnight here tonight, which is why I am writing this entry at 5 in the morning lol! He just got done eating a bit ago. So I figured I would write a quick entry before I go back to sleep.

School is starting again next week, seems like summer just started. We were thinking about taking the kids on Sunday for one night to the Dells. It is about a 4 hour drive so we are not sure if we will or not. If not we will plan it for another time.

It has been raining like cats and dogs here in MN!! Everyday we are getting enormous amounts of rain. Big storms, lots of lightning, thunder and it rains so hard for about an hour. We lost power last night at around 3 am for a few hours. That seems to be happening all over around the cities.

I am going to add a bunch of pictures and end this for now so I can go back to sleep for awhile. Busy day today also.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Love and hugs,

Robyn

Little of this and a little of that

Hi everyone! My kids are WAY to sweet ;) I brought them to Coldstone for ice cream tonight and we stopped at Walmart on our way home so they could run in and get a couple things. They surprised me tonight with candlelight, magazines and music and gave me hand and feet massages, and a back massage. With a card saying thank you for all I do for them :) Can we say Awwwwwwww!!! Ohhh and a facial with a homemade mix all I know is there was honey in it because it dripped on my lips lmao. Then my daughter told me don't worry it's edible but one of the ingredients was also raw egg ewwww lol. So sweet!

About a month ago I helped my 10 year old sign up for this pen pals around the world site. We thank god did not give any personal info, it is more like pen pals through emails. Either way I checked the site out, I sat with her to fill it all out. THEN two days ago she prints this email out and brings it directly to me telling me to look at. It was from a goddamn (sorry but this enrages me!!) 38 African man looking for a wife! He even put his real phone number in the email. Who the HELL sends a 10 year old girl that request?? Either way I sent an email to the site itself and closed my daughters account. That is scary stuff! Unreal! The scariest part is that I screened the site, I sat with her and helped her register and it still happened. So even with parental guidance and help she still gets this crazy email. My daughters profile tells her name, age, what grade in school she in, and favorite subjects, ect. So other parents reading this make sure to be really careful even with kid friendly sites when your kids register for these things online. Pretty sad something so innocent like pen pals can have people like this man poking around and contacting the kids so casually.

This summer has been so busy! It truly has not been relaxing yet we have had tons of fun. We have been getting a ton of rain here for the last 4 days and lots of storms. We really needed rain though but such a dreary 4 days make it hard to be full of energy and happy.

My dog has been sick. I took him to the vet last week and his CREA (kidney) numbers are really high. They told us after doing Xrays they think he has a mass in his abdomen pushing his intestines outwards. He is on antibiotics right now and then at the end of this week we will bring him back in for more blood work and an ultrasound. He is a 6 and half year old Lab/Shepard and he is just as much one of us as our kids are. He is an amazing dog! He puts up with so much crap from our son and never bats an eye. We are praying that it is not a mass causing this pain he is feeling. I will let you know when we find out for sure on Friday.

We have just about all the kids school shopping done now. Man does it get expensive the older they get! You need a small fortune just to put your kids in school with what they are required to have. We are just about done though thank goodness. My daughter only needs a couple pairs of shoes and my son needs a couple more outfits. They got some of the cutest clothes this year!

I got my hair colored yesterday and it was badly in need of it! I had so many grey hairs on the top of my head. I have not colored it since my grandma passed away. Just hasn't been on my list of priorities. I also got about 5 inches cut off. It still goes to the middle of my back but feels lighter now.  While I was getting my hair done my daughters and a cousin all got manicures and pedicures. They all looked so cute!

I posted a picture of the furniture I plan on buying when we find a house. The couch was my favorite piece by far and HOM furniture discontinued it! They have no more. I am so upset because I have never seen a couch like that and I love it! It would have looked great with my hutches full of native american stuff. I will keep looking hopefully I can find it somewhere. Just my luck lol

Well thats it for tonight, I am going to make a couple tags and do the dishes then hit the hay. I hope everyone is doing well!

Love and Hugs,

Robyn

So sorry for the victims of this and families!

I think living so close to this tragedy we maybe are hearing more than some other people. The latest news I heard a bit ago is so horrible! They have found some people trapped in cars still alive under all of the rubble. But yet they are not going to be able to free them alive! Apparently there are officers with cell phones letting these people use the phones to call loved ones to say "goodbye". Can you imagine?? I feel so helpless, as does everyone.  So sad!

I am not sure why but we had many people from last night through today calling us. The city of Mpls asked that everyone not use their cell phones because the lines are so busy. Only people that really need to should use them. My PCS service has been fading in and out since yesterday at about 6:10, ten minutes after the bridge fell. So because of this I had 19 alerts this morning even text messages with 911 on them because family and friends who had not talked to us needed to know we were not on that bridge when it collapsed. We got in contact by this afternoon with everyone we needed to who called and they are all relieved.

My heart goes out to all of the people involved in this sad accident! This bridge was a very important part of traveling to and from Minneapolis to St. Paul, a very important part of anyone who works downtown Minneapolis getting to work everyday. It is unbelievable that even after inspections it just gave way and disappeared into the Mississippi River.

An update on my hubbies friend, he is doing ok. He had another surgery yesterday morning, and then another this morning. He is very frustrated and understandably so! In his head and heart he still is who he has always been yet he has to just lay there. he has SO much work ahead of him to hopefully be able to walk again someday. He had a very upsetting situation happen the other night that was very embarrassing for him and he called my hubby crying, he wants to go home! A nurse was very rude to him, and very insensitive towards him. She was totally out of line and I am very sorry he had to go through that.

Yesterday we had a great time at Valley Fair! Tonight we are going to the Drive In to see the Simpsons, and Harry Potter. Should be fun! Our middle tribes pow wow starts this Friday so we will go to it probably on Saturday. The last week of this month we are going back to the same two cabins werented inJune over Labor Day for more fishing, sun, and fun ;)

Well I need to take my daughter to Archiver's so I should sign off now. My kids just got out of my mom's pool and are giving me that look of "can we go now?" lol

I hope everyone is doing well!

Love you and hugs,

Robyn

Prayers and sadness (revised typos)

There was a terrible tragedy tonight during rush hour at 6PM about 15 minutes from my house! The bridge in Mpls gave way and so far there has been 7 deaths. As of 11:00 tonight they had to call the rescue teams back until morning because it was not safe for them to be in the river. There is still many  cars not found or not able to be gotten to!

My heart goes out to everyone and the families of the victims! SOO scary this is a road that I travel on a regular basis. I was at Valleyfair Amusement park all day but got calls from my both of my sister in laws repeatedly making sure I was not there. Everyone's cell phones were not working very well because so many people were using them. So I did not hear my phone ring at the park until almost 8 tonight. I missed 12 calls during those two hours.

This is a heavily traveled bridge, about 200,000 people a day! It is right there near the University of MN. I cannot believe the pictures and news I have been watching! Such sadness..............
